Welcome to my homepage. Currently I work as a postdoc researcher at the Utrecht Institute of Linguistics OTS, Utrecht University, Utrecht, Netherlands. I work in the Vici-project of Prof. Dr. Jos van Berkum, “Moving the language user: Affect and perspective in discourse processing”, where I will investigate the interaction between language and emotion with several neuroimaging methods.

I grew up in the vicinity of Rotterdam and after I finished my high school I moved to Utrecht where I obtained my bachelor’s degree at Utrecht University College and followed the research master Neuroscience & Cognition at Utrecht University. I continued with my PhD at the department of Experimental Psychology, Helmholtz Institute, Utrecht University.

For my doctoral thesis I did research on spatial mental representations in blind and sighted individuals. I investigated how people with and without vision process spatial language and how this information is represented in the brain. For a copy of my doctoral thesis please contact me by email.
